Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences takes leadership in formulation of Strategies, Policies, Guidelines and Procedures meant to assure, maintain and enhance the quality of the institution’s services, in pursuit of the College’s Vision, Mission, Core Values and Motto to provide high quality courses which emphasize on practical application.
The responsibility for Quality Assurance is a continual pursuit that is founded upon documented processes and procedures that are well considered, clearly communicated and transparently applied.
Among its core activities are to ensure that:
• Adherence to standards set by professional bodies. All professional courses at Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences are accredited by the relevant professional bodies e.g. Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board (KMLTTB), Kenya Nutritionist and Dietician Institute (KNDI), National AIDS & STI Control Programme (NASCOP), Clinical Officers Council of Kenya (COCK), Physiotherapy Society of Kenya (PSK).
• Student training and evaluation is systematically structured to ensure that the graduates are equipped with skills, knowledge and altitude relevant for the industry/market place. Student evaluations are done every term.
• Continuous, systematic and structured evaluation of courses, internally and externally, followed by implementation of improvement plans based on the evaluation.
• Quality staff through development and implementation of core skills training courses for the teaching staff.
In carrying out the above responsibilities, Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences works closely with all stakeholders. Stakeholders include Students, Accrediting Agencies, Academics and Academic Institutions, Sponsors and Parents, Employers, and Others.
